X-rays are a very useful diagnostic tool within the practice. Certain diseases, such as those involving bones, show up very well on an x-ray. As you can see, this dog has broken its Tibia (shinbone). Getting good quality x-rays helps us to make a prompt and accurate diagnosis for your pet's problem.

Once a diagnosis has been achieved, we can then set about swiftly repairing the damage. An external fixator was used to fix this fracture, and the dog made a full recovery.

X-rays are also useful for the investigation of urinary tract disease. This male dog has had contrast material injected into his bladder to make it more visible (the round structure in the middle of the xray).
