Fees & Payment

Advice on fees and our price list

We offer a full range of treatment options at affordable prices, and our policy is to always offer value for money whatever level of treatment you prefer.  We have a full fee and price list in reception with routine prices on display.  Please call for current prices and any special offers.  We always quote and estimate fees including VAT at 20%, to avoid surprises.  Please discuss fees with us if payment is likely to be a problem.  Estimates are offered for any procedure, but bear in mind that we often do not know what treatment will be required when we admit a sick patient – we will keep you informed of expected costs as we go along, however, and work with you to keep costs within your budget. See the table below for our most common prices.

Pet Health Club

Many of these prices can be further discounted with membership to our Pet Health Club. Find out more about the benefits of the Pet Health Club.

We also offer a 15% discount for 3 or more of the same procedure at one time (e.g. if you have 3 dogs brought in for booster vaccination on one day).    Breeders discounts are also available.  A loyalty scheme is available on selected food purchases – phone for details.   Payment must be made at the time for any discounts to apply.

Our consultation fee includes the costs of repeat examinations for one month for the same condition – offering peace of mind and real savings.

We accept payment by credit or debit card, online payment or cash. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accept cheque payments.

All fees should be paid at the time of treatment please – we do not send bills or offer other credit facilities. For hospitilised cases payment of the account balance is expected every 24 hours.

PET INSURANCE is the best way to avoid worry and ensure that you can request the best treatment for your pet. Always insure your pet BEFORE illness occurs. Read our Pet Insurance Advice. Direct Claims are only offered at the discretion of the clinical director and only in exceptional circumstances. For all other claims it is expected that the client will settle the balance in full and costs reimbursed by the insurance company to the client.

Case Fee

£86.50 (includes free follow up consultations – see right)

Instead of a consultation fee every time the vet is consulted, we have a set case fee which is charged at the first visit.
Subsequent consultations for the same condition within eight weeks are free of charge. Real savings when check ups are needed.

Any test, procedures and medications will incur additional fees.

Microchipping

£46.00

It is now a legal requirement for all puppies from the age of 8 weeks to have a microchip! From June 2024 it will be a legal requirement for cats to be microchipped from 20 weeks of age.

Welcoming a new puppy or kitten into the home is an exciting experience and to us, the saddest thing is losing them when a microchip could get you reunited.

You can always bring your pet in just to have a microchip, our vets are happy to help.

Emergency Fees

During normal opening hours the initial consulation fee is £116.00.

Outside of normal opening times and at weekends, the initial consultation fees are:

6:30pm-10pm and 7am-8:30am £273.00
10:00pm to 7:00am £372.00

Reduced fees are charged for pets covered by case fees (see above) and vouchers are available when you have your pet vaccinated with us.

Out of hours we always have one of our own vets and nurses on call to help you.  The fees on the left are case fees, so follow up consultations are free of charge as described above. Any tests,  procedures and medications will incur additional fees. Because we have our own out of hours service, you will always see one of our own vets here at Mill House, and will not have to travel elsewhere, unless specialist referral is needed.
