Appointments are usually available within 1-5 days. Dermatology referral appointments are usually available within 2-3 weeks.

Please advise your clients to allow 30-60 minutes for their initial consultation.  Ophthalmology and dermatology initial appointments are at least 60 minutes.  We may need to admit their pet for further treatment or may simply require the client to wait whilst we carry out necessary investigations. Tea and coffee are provided at the practice.  There is a local shop nearby selling snacks and sandwiches and two supermarkets only a 2-3minute drive from the practice.

A full written report and recommendations are posted or e-mailed to the referring veterinary surgeon and findings may be discussed over the telephone.

It may be appropriate for us to continue to monitor the progress of the case if longer-term treatment is needed, but we will advise clients to return to you for any other unrelated illnesses. This condition remains in place for one year from the date of referral.

Before Arrival

Please advise the owner not to feed their pet on the morning of their appointment but do let them have access to water. In most cases prescribed medications can be given, unless advised otherwise. In case of doubt please speak to the vet to whom the case has been referred.

A referral letter and any radiographs, ECG’s or lab results e-mailed in advance by your normal vets.

Referral forms with directions to the referral centre and preparation instructions are available on request to give to clients.
